Reindeer games pillow Duo
KnitTing Pattern, by Margaret Holzmann
Two pillows in one pattern! A goofy Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer is paired with a traditional forest reindeer forest scene. Worked in the same color palette, they are make a great pair!
Alternate Color Design
There aren’t a lot of options for how to color the Goofy pillow, if you want it to look like Rudolph, but on the Classic pillow could be done in more Christmas-themed colors, such as red and green.
This Pillow duo will delight both old and young
Both pillows are worked in the round on sock-weight yarn using fair-isle knitting. The small details of the Goofy pillow (mouth, eyes, nose) are added with duplicate stitch.
Worked in Valley Yarns, Huntington, a sock/finger weight yarn. Huntington is a plied yarn designed for colorwork and patterns with complex stitch work. It is soft and machine-washable.
INSPIRATION
Like a lot of people, I grew up watching Rudolph on TV, in the lead-up to the Holidays. I don’t want to date myself, but when I was a kid it was aired once, so you had to keep a close eye on the tv guide or you would miss out. I thought it would be fun to have a goofy Rudolph pillow and a traditional forest reindeer as a pair, worked in the same colors so they could be used together. We used them last year and afterwards I kept them out until Spring arrived.
