A fun to knit, flowery and trippy blanket that has 3 color stories. This one is Summer, and there is also a Succulent and Spring color story. It makes a great take-along vacation project because it is worked in blocks. Once you’ve made the first block the rest will just fly off your needles.
Designed as the COVID-19 was getting started and finished just as we were all asked to stay at home. Work it as shown or from your stash.
Available as a knitting pattern or crochet. Join the KAL/CAL on facebook or Ravelry.
This stash-buster version of the blanket features, blues, greens, yellows and reds, arranged randomly. Use the coloring page to come up with your own color design. Instructions include an option for working the blanket in blocks that are sewn together and a modular, no-sew method.
This is the follow-on design to the Safe at Home blanket, that was inspired by my daughter, Natalie’s adventures in staying at home on the lower east side of NYC during COVID-19. The buildings to me are reminiscent of Brooklyn brownstones or tenements built in the 19th century.
Inspired by ocean colors, this blanket is worked in strips with a little, simple repeat of short rows.
Inspired by the fascinating design of Escher (the Dutch artist), this blanket is a striking example of how repeating a shape in different colors can create interesting optical effects.
The popularity of the knitted version of Safe at Home called for a crochet version as well. This blanket is worked in the Tunisian crochet technique.
